Pain Management Procedures

At Lakes Radiology, we strive to make pain relief procedures, such as steroid injections, as comfortable and efficient as possible. These injections help reduce pain and inflammation, offering relief from various conditions. Our pain management procedures can serve both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes and are performed using advanced CT or ultrasound imaging for precise targeting. Every procedure is carried out by specialist-trained radiologists with the support of skilled technicians.

Lakes Radiology provides a variety of pain management services, including steroid and anesthetic injections for conditions like bursitis, tendinopathy, and fluid aspirations. We also offer spine-related procedures, such as nerve root, facet joint, and epidural injections. All treatments are conducted under image guidance to ensure accuracy and patient comfort.

The anesthetic typically provides immediate relief, lasting 3 to 12 hours. Steroids may take 2 days to 2 weeks to take effect. Some patients may experience a temporary return of symptoms after the anesthetic wears off, but gradual improvement usually follows as the steroid takes action.

The injection itself often takes less than a minute. However, for CT-guided injections or those targeting specific areas, the process may take 5 to 10 minutes. Additional time is allocated to answer your questions and explain the procedure.
